About Dave Aiello
Dave Aiello (email) founded Operation Gadget, an electronic gadget news and reviews weblog, in November 2003. He is currently serving as the site's editor. Dave has a special interest in fitness gadgets and technology used in competitive sports events.
Dave is an active supporter of the LiveStrong and Tour of Hope programs of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. He writes extensively on these programs and their goals. He completed the 2004 Tour of Hope Fundraising Ride in Washington, DC on October 9, after raising over $2,000 from donors in the United States, Switzerland, Germany, and India.
He has been a member of the USA Hockey Officiating Program for over 20 years and is also a member of the men's and women's ice hockey officiating staff of the ECAC, the National Ice Hockey Officials' Association, and the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Officials Association (ECHOA). Dave has officiated at prestigious amateur ice hockey tournaments including the 2005 Chicago Showcase, the 2005 USA Hockey Boys' 12 & Under Tier II Nationals, the 2005, 2004, and 2003 New Jersey Interscholastic Championships, and the 2003 USA Hockey Women's Nationals.
Dave competes in 5 and 10-kilometer running races and duathlons in the Northeastern United States. He trains by riding his mountain bike, jogging, and in-line skating.
He is the founder and president of Chatham Township Data Corporation, an Internet and Intranet application development company. CTDATA develops large, complex Web Sites that contain relational databases. CTDATA provides Movable Type and TypePad consulting services through its Weblog Improvement website. Dave has 15 years experience in corporate Information Technology and the consulting business.
Dave received his B.S. in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he was a member of the men's ice hockey and lacrosse teams. He is married to Kathleen Kuykendall Aiello, MD, a pediatrician at Ambler Pediatrics in Ambler, PA.
