RunKeeper’s “LG Lifeband 5K Challenge” is an Easy Way to Experience Full App Functionality

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I’ve been using the RunKeeper App to track my running for the past five weeks. During that time, I’ve been impressed with the quality of the app. But I’ve been using it at the free level, where certain features such as run comparison are disabled.

A couple of days ago, I was offered the opportunity to participate in a promotion that RunKeeper is calling the LG Lifeband 5K Challenge. Between mid-May and mid-June 2014, registered users of RunKeeper who are not currently Elite members can accept the challenge and get the following benefits:

The only requirement beyond accepting the challenge is that you log 5 kilometers of GPS-tracked activity using RunKeeper during the challenge month.

I was not ready to become a RunKeeper Elite member, because I wasn’t convinced that it was worth the $39.99 annual fee. But it’s easy for someone like me to log 5K and get a free month trial of the Elite service.

If you are considering using an app like RunKeeper to track your Summer outdoor activity, now is a good time to install the app on your smartphone, take up this challenge, and give RunKeeper Elite a try.
