Motorola A630 Announced, OS in Dispute

motorola-a630.jpg

Last night, Motorola announced apparently announced the A630 mobile phone at an exclusive party in New York. The party was so exclusive that none of the gadget press got an invite. Maybe this is why no one can agree what embedded operating system is going to drive this thing:

  • MobileTracker, no OS guess,
  • Engadget, no OS guess,
  • Gizmodo,"Windows Mobile 2003 [or maybe not. We'll let you know]",
  • MTekk, Windows Mobile 2003,
  • MobilMania.cz, "že Motorola nepoužije standardní operační systém, například Windows Mobile",
  • Cellulari.it (after Google translation), no OS guess.

One thing we do know is that the A630 is a sideways clamshell with a full alphanumeric keyboard, like the Nokia 9xxx series communication devices. The A630 also reportedly has a camera.
