Treo 600 GSM Version Finally Available from Amazon.com
I haven't mentioned this yet, but earlier this week Amazon.com began selling mobile phones in association with Cingular Wireless. As a result, Amazon.com is now selling the GSM version of the palmOne Treo 600, one of my favorite mobile devices.
I'm recommending the Treo 600 for use on the Cingular Wireless network because it has quad band capability (GSM 850 plus the "traditional" GSM frequencies of 900, 1800, and 1900 mHz). This means that the Treo 600 will run well on Cingular's rebuilt network, on the new GSM America system from AT&T Wireless, and the T-Mobile USA network, as well as every international GSM network I know of. (Please note that this version of the Treo 600 is intended for primary use on Cingular, use on any other network may incur roaming charges.)
I didn't realize that the Treo 600 supported GSM 850 from the outset, but, a number of reviews (such as the Treo 600 review published by MobileBurn) indicate that it did. This is a device that was ahead of its time, and is still one of the best all purpose mobile communication tools available.

Comments
Agreed!
Other advantages of the GSM version of the Treo 600 are:
1) Less power consumption than the CDMA (Sprint) version. This means more battery life.
2) The GSM version will work all over the world.
