Meaningless Comments

Over the weekend and continuing today, Operation Gadget was visited by some people that try to place Comment SPAM on Movable Type websites. I am trying not to feel flattered, but, getting SPAM permanently on to this site would probably ensure that a number of people would see it.

We are somewhere along a path of escalation that will result in an upgrade to Movable Type 3.0 with its new comment system that's supposedly harder to abuse. In the meantime, I'm personally thankful for Jay Allen's MT-Blacklist plugin. It gives small publishers like me a chance to keep our sites clean and focused.
