2004 DIMA Digital Camera Shootout Winners Run the Gamut from Inexpensive to Professional

In a recent article, I mentioned that the Digital Imaging Marketing Association had a Digital Camera Shootout at the DIMA Annual Conference in Las Vegas back in February. They picked winners in seven different categories based on retail price range, and an eighth for digital video camcorders. The winners were:


There are some incredible cameras in these lists. The Olympus Cameida C-8080 is an 8-megapixel camera that's the highest resolution of the bunch. All of the prosumer camera fans seem to be in love with the Leica Digilux 2 because it delivers 5-megapixel performance with the feel and response of a film camera. I'd gladly shoot with any of them.
