Apple Expected to Announce Less Expensive iPod-- Wall Street Journal

I'm taking the rumor that Apple Computer is about to announce a less expensive iPod a lot more seriously, now that The Wall Street Journal has stated that an announcement will take place. The article says that the new iPod will be priced "as low as $200. While that's more than the $100 figure that has circulated on Apple rumor Web sites in recent weeks, it's still a sharp enough markdown that Apple hopes will attract a much larger audience of music and gadget lovers."

I'll be interested to see if the Wall Street Journal is right on this one. [ via Yahoo! Finance ]
